HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability is now 1 year old!
Since it’s release exactly one year ago, Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability: Ideas and inspiration for even greater success and joy raising bilingual kids has provided a powerful boost to families around the world. While the book has been widely praised by many parents and experts in the field, today, on this first anniversary, I’d like to spotlight the impressions of one particular reader, a mother of two young children in the United States. Her experience of the book—how it has empowered her family’s bilingual journey—is exactly why I wrote it and her comments are so gratifying to me.
Deborah, who’s originally from Brazil but has lived in the U.S. for the past 10 years, was kind enough to allow me to share these comments today along with a photo of her lovely family (and their large fluffy friend).
How we both benefit
Deborah’s experience is a wonderful example of the kind of positive impact Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability can have on families. And at the same time this book is helping you strengthen your efforts and your progress, your purchase is helping me maintain and enhance all the friendly support I offer, entirely for free, at this blog, at my forum The Bilingual Zoo, and at my YouTube channel Bilingual Monkeys TV. In other words, we both benefit in really important ways!
So if you haven’t yet gotten a copy of the book for yourself, please do. I’m confident you’ll find a range of valuable food for thought in these 310 pages, which are packed with my experience of the past 20 years working with hundreds of bilingual and multilingual children as a teacher and as a parent.
And after you’ve finished reading it and have had a chance to put some of the ideas into practice, please take a moment to share your impressions in an online review, even a short one. I know this small step can be easily overlooked, amid our busy days, but such reviews are extremely helpful. Not only do they have a very positive impact on my professional life, they have a very positive impact on me personally, too, as was the case with Deborah’s review.
Please also consider gifting a copy of the book to family members, friends, and your local library. The more widely this book is read, the more families will surely experience the positive impact it can help produce.
Huge thanks to Deborah, and to you all, for supporting my work!
