I’m thrilled to welcome the Polish edition of Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability to the world! (In Polish the title is Podaruj dziecku szanse na dwujezycznosc.) This is the first translated edition of the book and, honestly speaking, I never imagined an exciting development like this when I wrote the original English edition, which was published in 2016. Back then, I was only hoping that the book in English, which was based on my experience as a teacher and parent of bilingual children, would speak to at least a few parents out there and lend some useful support to their bilingual aim.
But in the years since, the book has far exceeded these modest expectations. The English version has been read by thousands of parents, all over the world, and has resonated deeply with many of them. They have found the book to be an empowering source of ideas and inspiration for realizing greater success and joy on their family’s bilingual journey.
I hope the Polish edition will empower readers in the same way, and help enable many more families to reach these rewarding heights of success and joy. If you know anyone who might like to read my book in Polish, please point them to this page at the publisher’s site…
And please know that, beyond the book—whether you read it in English or Polish—further support is always available through this blog and through my forum The Bilingual Zoo. (But in English, please! Sorry, I don’t speak Polish!)
Thank you! And my great gratitude to everyone who was involved in the realization of the Polish edition. No matter how many more translations of the book might be made in the future, I will always look fondly upon the Polish edition as the very first one!

Hi, I just treated myself to your Polish version book for Christmas and getting into it with passion. I’m mum of 7 and 5 years old children, married to an English man and raising kids in UK. Thanks to your book I’m getting to understand why at age of 3 my firstborn child wouldn’t accept me speaking to her in English and my second child was just the opposite and hated me speaking Polish to him. That’s still a challenge but I’m getting determined now day by day and can see slow progress already. 🙂
Dorota, thank you for reading my book in Polish! I’m really happy to hear that you’re finding it helpful. To sustain your progress, please continue your best efforts each day and stay persistent throughout the years ahead. As long as you keep trying, and keep going, your perseverance will pay off in a lot of rewarding success. I’m cheering for you and your kids and I’ll be happy to lend my support, whenever you need it. I also recommend my free forum, The Bilingual Zoo, where you can receive ongoing encouragement from parents around the world.
Dorota, please enjoy the rest of my book! And when you’re finished, if you could go back to the publisher’s site (the link is above) and leave a review there, that would be wonderful. Thank you!
Of course I will 🙂 thank you for your enthusiasm and hard work you put into passing your knowledge to other people,so encouraging! When my children were born I didn’t know any “mixed ” families personally and had nobody to look up to when started our bilingual journey, just wish I had your book then so my life would be so much easier now…but thanks to your book I ve started to believe is never too late and every moment matter !
Dorota, thank you for your kind reply. I’m so glad that your bilingual journey is now moving forward more positively and productively. And your kids are still young so you can surely make a lot of rewarding progress over the years ahead. Remember, there’s always a payoff to perseverance!
I know this experience can feel lonely and discouraging at times, but please know that you’re not alone. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally, by email, or connect with me (and hundreds of other like-minded parents) at The Bilingual Zoo.
