Again, a big arigato for all the kind interest and support Bilingual Monkeys has received in 2013. This site, born in September 2012, is still just a toddler, really, but it’s now stumbling along happily on two feet and I have all of you to thank: your feedback, via comments and email, has helped motivate me, week after week, to share myself as best I can, both the soulful and the silly. (See some of this feedback right here.) I’m so glad my work speaks to you, and encourages you, and I hope we can continue to be a source of support to one another for many more years.
I’ll be taking a short break from blogging through the holidays (I’ll spend the time lying on the floor, sucking candy canes), but I’ll be back with new posts in January. What’s more, I’ll be unveiling a variety of new surprises in 2014 with the hope of making Bilingual Monkeys even bigger and better! (Free bananas for the kids! )
So bookmark this site to keep me on your radar—or subscribe to my free weekly newsletter and you’ll never miss a thing. The Bilingual Monkeys newsletter is the most convenient way to continually keep updated on my work. Not only does it share links to the latest posts, further tips and tricks for raising bilingual kids (which don’t appear on this site), and special offers and giveaways to subscribers, it serves as a kind of coach, providing regular encouragement each Sunday to keep your efforts on track, week after week.
And even when I take a break from blogging, I continue to send out my newsletter, so if you want to know how I’m spending these holidays (apart from lying on the floor, sucking candy canes), just click the link above to subscribe. It’s completely free, completely secure, and you can unsubscribe at any time (completely).
The Bilingual Monkeys website now has over 150 articles on raising bilingual children, all written with the aim of making the bilingual journey a more fun and successful experience for parents and their kids. If you’re new to this site, or have only read a handful of posts so far, I welcome you to explore my work further. Start by simply scrolling down the homepage for my most recent posts. Then look to the sidebars, to the right, for pages of curated links (New Parents, The Essentials, Creative Ideas, etc.) as well as a full drop-down menu of all categories and a search box for googling key words.
And if you’d like to learn more about my little band of monkeys in Hiroshima, Japan, see the My Family page and the post 19 Things I Haven’t Told You About Me and My Family.
Again, happy holidays and I look forward to continuing our bilingual journey together in 2014!
My best to you and yours,
P.S. Always feel free to contact me directly, via email, if I might be of some support to your family or to your work in this field. I respond personally to every single message!
